Privacy Policy
Unjunk analyses your media on your device. Nothing about your photos or videos leaves your iPhone. There is no Unjunk account, no sign-up, no cloud sync, and no server that Unjunk uploads anything to.
This policy explains what Unjunk (“the app”, “we”, “us”) does and does not do with your information. It applies to the Unjunk iOS app published by Arnav Taduvayi.
1. Information we collect
We do not collect any personal information. Unjunk has no networking layer, no third-party analytics, and no advertising SDKs. It cannot transmit your data because it has no means of doing so.
The app does process the following on your device, and stores some of it locally so it does not have to rescan your library on every launch:

What content analysis looks at, and what it does not
To find near-identical shots, duplicates, blurred frames and photos of documents, Unjunk examines the images themselves — entirely on your iPhone, inside the app’s own process. It measures how much fine detail a frame has, how bright it is, how much its brightness varies, how much of the frame is covered by text, and computes a short numeric fingerprint used to tell two shots of the same subject apart from two different shots.
Unjunk never measures faces, identity, age, gender, ethnicity, expressions, attractiveness, nudity, or who appears in a photograph. It does not run face detection or face recognition, and no such signal is used to suggest that a photo be deleted.
Detecting photos of receipts and documents requires knowing whether a frame contains text. Unjunk uses Apple’s on-device Vision framework and reads back only the rectangles the text occupies and how confident the system was. It never requests the words themselves.
2. How your information is used
The locally stored information described above is used for one purpose: to show you what is consuming storage on your device and to let you decide what to remove. It is not used for profiling, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to the app’s function.
3. Information we share
We share nothing, because we receive nothing. Unjunk contains no third-party SDKs and makes no network requests with your data. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and there is no personal information in our possession to sell.

Unjunk asks for no other permission. It supports Limited Photo Library access: if you grant access to a subset of your library, Unjunk works within that subset and says so, rather than repeatedly asking for full access.
Write access to your photo library exists so that deletions you confirm can be carried out. Deletions are routed through iOS to Recently Deleted, where the system retains them for 30 days before permanent removal.
5. Subscriptions and payments
Unjunk Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the Apple App Store. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple. Unjunk never sees, receives, or stores your name, payment card, billing address, or Apple Account credentials. The app receives only a signed receipt from Apple indicating whether an active subscription exists, which it uses to unlock Pro features on your device.
Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy, available at apple.com/legal/privacy.
6. Tracking
Unjunk does not track you. It does not build a profile of you, does not link your activity to data from other apps or websites, and does not participate in cross-app tracking. It therefore does not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt.
7. Data retention and deletion
All data described in this policy is retained on your device only, for as long as the app is installed.
- Deleting Unjunk removes everything it stored. Nothing remains on a server, because there is no server.
- You can erase everything without deleting the app. More › Delete Unjunk Data removes the local index, the swipe progress, the cleanup history, the Keep List and every stored preference, in one step and after a confirmation.
- If you revoke photo library access, Unjunk stops reading your library and returns to the permission screen. The index it had already built stays on your device until you erase it by either of the two routes above.
- The local index is excluded from device and iCloud backups, so it does not consume your iCloud storage.
Because we hold no personal data about you, requests to access, correct, export, or erase personal data — such as those under the GDPR or CCPA — can be satisfied entirely on your device by deleting the app. If you would like written confirmation of this, contact us at the address below.
8. Children
Unjunk is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, of any age.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with an updated date at the top. Material changes affecting how your information is handled will be described in the app’s release notes.
